About the Conference:

TAMFT has been dedicated to advancing and promoting marriage and family therapy in Texas for the past 50 years. Not only has TAMFT provided continuing education, shared current research, and facilitated networking opportunities to systemic therapists in Texas, but the professional association also helped protect our right as LMFTs to diagnose in 2017 on the national level. TAMFT has continuously evolved over the years into the thriving independent professional association it is now to best serve systemic therapists and friends of the field.

Celebrating 50 Years of TAMFT: Embracing the Past, Enriching the Present, Empowering the Future is dedicated to the reflection of how far our profession has come and the continued evolution of our innovative field. Keynotes and workshops will honor the foundations of our field, showcase emerging treatments and theories, and inspire critical conversations about the co-creation of the future of marriage and family therapy. Systemic thinkers from Texas and beyond will have the opportunity to gain new skills, share their own research, as well as forge new connections and rekindle professional flames.

KEYNOTES ANNOUNCED!

JUSTIN LEE

Justin’s most recent book, Talking Across the Divide: How to Communicate with People You Disagree With and Maybe Even Change the World, draws on psychological research and real-world examples to apply these same techniques to navigating all sorts of interpersonal conflicts, including political, social, and family divides.

Justin has co-hosted three podcasts, spoken in seven countries, and founded two successful nonprofit organizations. He has been featured in numerous media outlets, including The New York Times, Dr. Phil, Anderson Cooper 360, and All Things Considered; and interviewed by hosts ranging from Bill Maher to Laura Ingraham.
