About the Webinar:

Virginia Satir (known as the Mother of Family Therapy) believed that the "problem" or “presenting issue" itself was seldom the real problem; rather, how people coped with the problem created the problem. As we enter what will be a tumultuous political season, relationships will suffer. The problem is not that families and friends disagree about policy issues; rather, they will suffer because of how they cope during those conversations. This workshop explores a Satir approach to remaining regulated during difficult conversations. Satir’s Iceberg Metaphor, Coping Stances, and Self-Esteem Maintenance will be discussed.
