Details:
Spirituality and religion are vital components of human existence. Due to personal social, cultural, or educational factors, many therapists might disregard this resource while they work with clients. Multicultural competency includes assisting clients in recognizing their own spiritual resources. Based on over 25 years of clinical work, Dr. Barnett will share with the audience how to address clients' spiritual and religious resources ethically while considering one's own path of spiritual development.

Attendees will:

  • Learn ways to identify and integrate clients’ spiritual resources to enhance hope and stimulate healing
  • Ensure an ethical approach to helping
  • Identify ways the therapist can continue spiritual/religious development and enhance multicultural competence in clinical practice
