Hi Rebekah,
The process for getting a code to take the exam is confusing, so don't feel bad about asking. To get a code, you must actually apply for your LMFT Associate license. So you will apply for an "Initial" license through the Online Licensing System. You will need to complete the application, pay the initial licensing fee, and submit proof of completion of the Jurisprudence Exam, and a copy of government-issued ID. After submitting your application, you will need to mail the self-query from the NPDB and complete fingerprinting per Council instructions. You will also get an email asking you to submit the Exam Security Form, which staff will include in the email. If you are still in school, you will need your Program Director to email a letter noting that you are in the last semester of the program. If you have already graduated, you will need the university to send a transcript. The Practicum Documentation Form and Supervisory Agreement form are not needed to get an exam code, but they are needed to get your LMFT Associates. The code will come through the mail, so keep an eye out. I hope this helps and I wish you the best in your journey to be an LMFT! |
